EMR/ECA, EMT, and AEMT course registrations close 10 days before the class start date. If all documents and payments have not been received by the deadline, the applicant will not be allowed to start the course.

Wilson County ESD #3 Training Academy 2027 Class schedule

April 2027 Paramedic Cohort (new schedule)

  • April 1, 2027 - March 31, 2028

                  Tuesday/Thursday 6 pm to 10 pm AND every other Saturday 9 am to 4 pm

  • NO ONLINE or REMOTE CLASSES
  • In-Person class all 12 months

                   

Students will come Tuesdays and Thursdays each week for lectures from 6 pm to 10 pm. Every other Saturday, starting May 8, students will meet for skills labs from 9 am to 4 pm. There are 14 available seats for this cohort. 

Registration does not guarantee enrollment.


The Paramedic Program is a Veterans Benefits Eligible Program at Wilson County ESD #3 Training Academy.

EMT In-Person Courses

  • January 4 -  March 15, 2027 

                  Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 6 pm - 10 pm

                  

  • March 2 - May 27, 2027 

                  Tuesday/Thursday from 8 am to 1 pm

              

  • June 2 - August 13, 2027

                  Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 6 pm - 10 pm

                 

  • July 6 - September 30, 2027 

                Tuesday/Thursday from 8 am - 12 pm 

               

  • September 1 - November 12, 2027

                  Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 6 pm - 10 pm


  • October 1 - December 15, 2027

                  Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 1 pm - 5pm


Field and Clinical rotations are done on non-class dates. Students must complete 100 hours of field experience and 24 hours of clinical experience. 


There are 14 available seats for each class. 


The EMT Program is a Veterans Benefits Eligible Program at Wilson County ESD #3 Training Academy.

                  Skills Labs on Feb. 12, April 30, and June 25, 2027

  • March 1, 2027 - September 1, 2027 

                  Skills Labs on April 16, June 18, and Aug. 25, 2027

  • May 1, 2027 - November 1, 2027 

                   Skills Labs on June 11, Aug. 20, and Oct. 27, 2027

  • July 1, 2027 - January 1, 2028 

                  Skills Labs on Aug. 11, Oct. 22, and Dec. 10, 2027

  • September 1, 2027 - March 1, 2028 

                  Skills Labs on  Oct. 15, Dec. 10, 2027 and Feb. 25, 2028

  • November 1, 2027 - May 1, 2028 

                  Skills Labs on Dec. 3, 2027, Feb. 18 and April 28, 2028


Students learn online and attend Skills Labs in La Vernia, Texas to meet all course requirements. Skills Lab are mandatory and dates cannot be changed. Field experiences and clinicals are scheduled after successfully passing the second Skills Lab. Students must attend all 3 dates! Skills Labs start at 1 pm go until 5 pm, but can run longer if necessary.

Students are required to complete 108 ambulance field experience hours and 36 clinical experience hours.

ECA/EMR Courses

  • February 1, 2027 - April 1, 2027 
  • April 1, 2027 - June 1, 2027 
  • August 1, 2027 - October 1, 2027


ECA/EMR courses are online and upon completing the coursework, students are required to complete one 12-hour ride along on an ambulance at an approved affiliate location.

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL EMS STUDENTS

WCESD #3 Training Academy provides students with a student uniform shirt and ID badge. Students are required to provide the following :

1) dark navy blue or black EMS pants

2) dark navy blue or black belts

3)  and black pleather/leather boots.  


This is not included in the price of tuition and is the student's responsibility to purchase on their own. There is not a certain brand that is required.
